AlpStore – energy storage for the Alpine Space
Secure electricity supply and low-emission mobility
Under the coordination of B.A.U.M. Munich, the EU funding project AlpStore examined the usage of mobile and stationary energy storage technologies.
The growing generation of electricity and heat from renewable energy resources increases the challenge of maintaining a secure and continuous energy supply. Many energy and climate protection concepts do not face the topic of energy storage sufficiently. The EU funding project AlpStore addresses this shortcoming. Under the coordination of B.A.U.M., 19 partners from seven countries of the Alpine Space jointly developed master plans and pilot tests for the usage of different storage technologies.
The project is funded as part of the fourth Alpine Space Programme call for projects.
- Lead partner during project development and application process
- Project management as lead partner
- Pilot studies on the usage of energy storage systems in connection with pedelec charging stations and heat storage from operating biogas plants in the region Oberallgäu (Sonsthofen and Obersdorf) and in the county Ebersberg near Munich
- Communication and knowledge transfer for the dissemination of the project results
