SESWA: Smart Energy made in Austria

B.A.U.M. Consult participated with numerous contributions in the forum “Smart Energy Systems Week Austria”

19 May 2017, Graz: An entire week experts discussed at the forum “Smart Energy Systems Week Austria”, the Austrian flagship event on energy transformation. B.A.U.M. Consult was decisively involved in the conception and represented within the programme. 


The new name reflects its programme

From 15 to 19 May 2017 the forum „Smart Grids Week” took place for the tenth time in Graz. This year it operated under the new name “SESWA: Smart Energy Systems Week Austria”, which was reflected in the programme: holistic approaches for a sustainable energy system - in Austria and beyond.

As in previous years, B.A.U.M. Consult had the opportunity to contribute to the success of the event. Already on Monday there were numerous workshops facilitating international exchange. Ludwig Karg (B.A.U.M. Consult), Michael Hübner (Austrian Ministry of Innovation (bmvit)) and Fredrik Lundström (Swedish Energy Agency) planned a workshop with providers of horizontal software platforms. The idea is to find innovative approaches regarding to the involvement of such providers in projects of ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus and other research and development initiatives.

Knowledge transfer, demonstration projects and co-creation processes

On Tuesday, the official opening day, B.A.U.M. Consult participated twice: in his presentation Ludwig Karg promoted the knowledge platform expera, which is operated by B.A.U.M. Consult within the framework of the programme Era-Net Smart Grids Plus. Michael Wedler guided a round table discussion on demonstration projects from the “New Energy World”. His guests came from Austrian research, energy industry and manufacturing industry as well as from the projects “c/sells” and “WindNODE” of the German funding programme "Smart Energy Showcases - Digital Agenda for the Energy Transition" (SINTEG).

On Wednesday Ludwig Karg contributed to a co-creation process with several start-ups developing new business models. Moreover, he and Hemma Bieser (avantsmart) guided the evening event awarding the best presentations.
